1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using DeenPal, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the EEA), that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

2. Description of Services

DeenPal is an Islamic lifestyle app that provides:

• Prayer time notifications and Qibla direction
• An AI-powered Islamic assistant for educational guidance
• Quran reading and daily dhikr tools
• Personalised spiritual goal tracking
• Premium subscription features

Important Disclaimer: The AI assistant is an educational tool only. Its responses do not constitute fatwas, religious rulings, legal advice, or medical advice. Always consult a qualified Islamic scholar for important religious matters.

3. Account Registration

• You may register using your email address and password, or via Apple Sign-In.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at support@getdeenpal.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Free Tier

DeenPal offers a free tier with access to core features including prayer times, basic AI interactions, and Quran tools.

Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription plans. All subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's payment terms.

Billing & Renewal

• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon purchase confirmation.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions via your Apple ID settings or at apple.com/account/subscriptions.
• We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.

Apple's standard End User License Agreement applies to all in-app purchases: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Services or related systems
• Use the AI assistant to generate content that is harmful, offensive, or contrary to Islamic ethics
• Reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Services without our written consent
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or bans

6. Intellectual Property

All content within DeenPal — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, AI-generated responses, UI design, and software — is the property of DeenPal or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Quranic text and hadith content are sourced from public domain translations and classical Islamic works. Any third-party content is used in accordance with applicable licences.

You retain ownership of any content you create (such as personal notes or journal entries). By using the Services, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Services.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using DeenPal, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Prayer times, Qibla directions, or other calculations will be 100% accurate in all locations
• AI-generated content is complete, accurate, or suitable for any particular purpose

Your use of the Services is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DeenPal and its team members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months prior to the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that is harmful to other users or to us.

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by contacting us at support@getdeenpal.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by posting the updated Terms and changing the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
